Win a 3-month Membership to Weight Watchers and Lose Weight!
Posted on April 29th, 2009 130 commentsWeight Watchers just launched the Momentum Walk-It Challenge, and to celebrate, they’ve given me two 3-month memberships to give away on my blog!
These memberships can be used for Weight Watchers in-person meetings or for Weight Watchers online. Meeting attendance costs $12 per week, plus the one-time registration fee unless you join during a free registration period. And the online membership costs about $65 for three months. So, these 3-month memberships are pretty valuable. Plus, you can get healthier and thinner and learn new/better eating habits, etc. etc. So, they’re actually priceless.
I’m a huge believer in the Weight Watchers program and I’ve written about that here and here and here. I lost all my baby weight on the Weight Watchers program and trained for my first marathon while also attending meetings and learning to eat better. I’m a lifetime Weight Watchers member, which means I attend meetings for free as long as I stay within 2 pounds of my goal weight. Unfortunately, I waned in my commitment over the last few months and I’m no longer within that range. But that’s okay. I went back to my meeting today and re-committed myself to the program and to meeting attendance. I plan to be “free” again within two weeks. (There, it’s in writing).
I also signed up for the Momentum Walk-It Challenge (I’m a runner, so I’ll be “running” it) and I created a Walk-It Challenge team. That’s because my DH is joining Weight Watchers, too, and will be doing the challenge with me. We’re going to train for a 5K together sometime in the next eight weeks. I haven’t chosen our 5K event yet, but when I do, I’ll be writing about that, as well as my progress and my DH’s progress in the Walk-It Challenge training, here.
The Momentum Walk-It Challenge encourages all Weight Watchers meetings members and Weight Watchers Online subscribers to get active this spring. Between April 12 and June 6, set an activity goal for yourself — like walking 5 kilometers (3.1 miles) — and Weight Watchers will give you access to the tools you need to get there. Join or create a walking team, or sign up for a 5K event and you can get a FREE 8-week online training program to help reach your goal. (I downloaded my free 8-week online training program and it is very cool and fun to use). So, if you win one of my free memberships, you’ll want to consider signing up for this challenge.
Now, onto the contest: I’m giving away one 3-month Weight Watchers membership between now and May 8 and one between May 9 and May 15. To enter the first contest, all you have to do is post a comment below about why you want to win the membership and you’ll be entered into the drawing. Be sure to include your email address in the post so that I can contact you if you’re the winner. The contest deadline is 11:59 p.m. May 8. The winner will have three days to respond to my email or the prize will go to someone else.
For additional entries:
- Subscribe to this blog in a reader or via email (see the buttons in the upper right sidebar). Be sure to post an additional comment that you did this.
- Tweet about this contest, and again, post an additional comment with the link to your tweet.
- Blog about this contest, and post an additional comment with the link to your blog post.
Good luck.

Michelle, Help!!
I weigh more than ever before. I feel sluggish and like a blimp. I now weigh quite a bit more than my sister, who is kindly referred to in our family (and by herself) as Fat Pat. I never thought I’d see this day. -
I would like to loose all my baby fat even though it is 17 years old.
-
I want to win because I need some motivation to lose weight…..pretty desperately.
-
Katrina April 30th, 2009 at 07:18
I had a baby 6 months ago and I still have 20 pounds to loose so this would be perfect. I have heard they even have a nursing schedule that would work for me since I am still nursing my daughter. THanks!
-
I’ve always wanted to try Weight Watchers but have been reluctant to spend the money in case it didn’t work for me. I’ve heard such wonderful things that I would love to try it for myself! I have been thoroughly unsuccessful on my own at losing baby weight from two kids so hopefully this will help!
-
fromthemom April 30th, 2009 at 07:29
Yes! And you get to “eat extra points” when nursing. It’s awesome. I’m still nursing my 18-month-old and have been on the program since she was 5 weeks old.
-
I actually tried Weight Watchers before, but really felt like exercise was kind of ignored, so I couldn’t make it all work together. I’d love to try the new program!
-
I’m a huge fan of weight watchers and once lost 33lbs with them. I’m a stress eater though and when I dealt with some losses in my family I gained quite a bit back. So I’d love to rejoin and re-commit myself.

I would love to win one of these memberships so that I can get rid of my “baby” weight!
-
I just started a low-carb diet, so I’d love to win this to help me in the right direction! I’m moving to start a new career at the end of summer, so I’d love to have a new body t debut it
Thanks! -

I am a huge fan of the Weight Watchers online. I joined a few years ago and lost 30+ lbs. It helps me stay accountable. Having to go online every day and record what I eat, my water, vitamin and veggie intake is a huge motivator to me. Plus the extra points allowed for everything from sweeping floors to full on workouts is a big help, it makes me want to follow the plan.

It would be great to learn how to eat their way because with a bad back you cannot exercise the way you need too. Therefore you slowly gain,
over the years and years of pain. -

-
Marjorie May 2nd, 2009 at 01:25
I need to get back to Weight Watchers, and really love the idea of this challenge. If I win I’ll definately participate.
-
I was on Weight Watchers last year and lost a total of 30 pounds, then I stopped. Why? I figured I could do it on my own and save the money. It doesn’t work like that though for me. I need that weekly scale incentive and the tips and motivation of the weekly meetings. I’m afraid to get on the scale now to see how much I’ve gained back and now summer’s coming and I’m quite sure all those great shorts I bought last year in my new size are not going to fit now if I don’t get back to the game plan.

I would LOVE to win this giveaway! I had a baby five months ago and the baby weight is not coming off on its own. I tend to be a stress eater and my sweet little daughter is a very difficult baby – I tend to eat to calm my nerves with her. I have had tremendous success with Weight Watchers in the past and I am finally ready to commit myself to doing what needs to be done to get this baby weight off once and for all – eat healthy and exercise! Thank you for this giveaway – I will cross my fingers and hope that I am the lucky one chosen for this one!!!

I would like to win this giveaway because losing weight on my own is dreadful. It would be nice to have others in the same predicament to talk to, lean on for support and even make new friendships. I still have 14 years of baby weight that I would like to get off, but also to learn a new way of eating.
-
I’ve used Weight Watchers online before and dropped several pounds, but have gained it all back and then some! If I won a membership I’d have no choice but to get back with the program.
-
I used WW once before YEARS ago and lost 110 lbs….then gained it all back…not WW fault at all! I’d love to try WW again and this time be a success! Thanks!

I’ve blogged about the giveaway here:

I would love to get on board with weight watchers! I like that it helps you change eating habits rather than starving yourself or selling you a bunch of pills. I’m a newlywed and we’re both about to graduate with our bachelor’s degrees (read: very poor) so it would be great to get this free three months. I have gained 25 pounds since I started college and want to get into better eating habits before we start having kids (maybe in a year or two). Thanks!
-
Also, I looked through some of your archives and subscribed! looking forward to reading more

I’m turning 30 this year and one of my goals is to get healthier, before I get older and health problems start occuring. I would love to try Weight Watchers to help me learn to eat better and to encourage me in working out so that I can finally lose these 60 extra pounds.
-
I would love to win this, because i have found it harder and harder to find a diet that easy to follow, and one that i havent tried already. Weight watchers however does fall into the category of not having tried yet.

I’d love to win a membership because I was previously a weight watchers member and got down to goal weight, the older I’m getting though the harder it is to maintain it. I think this would be a real motivation to stick to the points if I had an online membership.
